General Description Of Position

Oversees the employee's benefits including but not limited to the self-insured medical and dental plans, supplemental insurance coverage, employee assistance program, flexible spending plan, employee clinic activity and annual employee health fair.

Assists with employee new hire paperwork, issuance of i.d. badges, issuance of personal p.i.n.'s for Fuelman system, drug testing process, payroll process, new employee orientation and employee appreciation banquet.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Oversees the self-insured medical plan including development and monitoring of claims and fiscal status;

- Oversees the self-insured dental plan including development and monitoring of claims and fiscal status.

- Oversees the life insurance coverage for all city employees (enrollment, terms, and adjustment of salaries).

-  Reconcile insurance bills and remit payments for all insurance coverage.

- Assists employees with new hire paperwork.

-  Issues I.D. badges for new employees and replacement badges for all others.

-  Oversees payments and activities surrounding the Employee Assistance Program and Employee Health Clinic.

- Coordinates annual Employee Health Fair and assists with annual Employee Appreciation Banquet.

- Oversees employee Fuelman identification numbers (issuance, terminations).

- Coordinates with the Safety Coordinator regarding employee’s workers' compensation claims...

-  Assists with all phases of the drug testing program.

-  Conducts the Onboarding process.

-  Assists with payroll process as needed.

- Maintains records related to medical, dental, and life coverage as well as workers' compensation.

- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Job Description

Qualifications

Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; must have broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. equivalent to a two year college degree plus 5 years related experience and/or training; and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.

Special Requirements

Drug Testing: All applicants are subject to pre-employment drug testing; individual in this position will be subject to random srug & alcohol testing.
