The Hot Springs Fire Department has issued a burn ban, effective Wednesday, Sept. 28, for the City of Hot Springs.

The ban is based on the potential fire hazard associated with current dry conditions and little to no precipitation in the forecast. The burn ban will be in effect as long as these conditions are present.

The burn ban prohibits all controlled burning within city limits. All burn permits issued prior to the burn ban have been canceled; they can be reissued or extended when the ban is lifted.
