From: City Of Hot SpringsThe Diamond Lakes Arkansas Master Naturalists is hosting a “seed bombing” event at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at the Hollywood Park Pavilion located at 411 Hollywood Avenue. This event is free to the public and all children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian.
In case of bad weather, the event will be rescheduled.
Led by Master Naturalists Karen Hicks and Jennifer Kay, this event will demonstrate a specific way to help repopulate an area with diminishing numbers of wildflowers and/or bring new vegetation to areas that may be lacking. This method provides an effective way for gardeners to establish plants without the need for plowing or drilling.
Seed bombs, or seed balls, are created by using balls of clay or a mixture of dried soil packed with seeds to provide a vast amount of opportunities for wildlife, as well as easier and more effective ways of gardening.
The City of Hot Springs Parks & Trails Department is a partnering sponsor for this event.
