Annual Veterans Day Ceremony is November 11
Join in honoring veterans and their families at a special Veterans Day Ceremony Friday, November 11, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the formal garden area at Colonel Bill Barber Marine Corps Memorial Park.

The event will pay tribute to our nation’s troops – past and present – and honor local veterans, veterans groups, and military organizations.

Voting in the November 8 General Election
Twelve additional Vote Centers open in Irvine tomorrow, November 5, ahead of the November 8 General Election. Hours for all 14 Vote Centers in Irvine are:

November 5-7: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

November 8: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

You can also mail your ballot or bring it to a drop box. For locations and more information, visit cityofirvine.org/election or ocvote.gov.

Fall Exhibitions at Irvine Fine Arts Center
Two new fall exhibitions, In This World and Infinite Timeline, open at the Irvine Fine Arts Center Saturday, November 12. A free opening reception with the artists is Saturday, November 19, 2 to 4 p.m., and is open to the public.

In This World evaluates moving through the world with pocket-sized time machines.

Infinite Timeline features sculptural works and paintings that explore the mutability of history and storytelling as they relate to themes of nature, reason, and empire.

The exhibitions run concurrently through Saturday, February 11. Learn more.

Celebrate GIS Technology
Join us Wednesday, November 16, for GIS Day and discover how the City’s Geographic Information System technology improves operational efficiency and enhances the quality of life in Irvine.

The event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Irvine Civic Center, will provide a forum for users of geographic information system (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society.

There will be presentations, application demonstrations, and more. Test your Irvine knowledge for a chance to win a prize.

Upcoming UCI Blood Drives

There is currently a great need for blood donations both locally and nationally. UCI Health and the City of Irvine are partnering for a series of blood drives that will take place from noon to 6 p.m. near the Great Park Visitors Center on the following dates:

Thursday, November 10

Thursday, December 15

Your donation will help ensure UCI Health can meet the needs of its patients and the Orange County community. Donors will receive a $10 Amazon gift card, courtesy of UCI Health.

Appointments are suggested but not required, and walk-in's will be accepted. Learn more and book a blood drive appointment.

Woollett Aquatics Center Closures
William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center is undergoing a facility rehabilitation project. Beginning Monday, November 7, the instructional pool will be closed and beginning Sunday, November 13, the competition pool will be closed.

The project is expected to take approximately three months and includes new plaster and tile for the instructional and competition pools, as well as upgrades to the facility’s filtration and chemical systems. During the closure, some programming will be reduced or suspended as only deep water will be available.

Explore Venezuela
Join Irvine Senior Services at the Lakeview Senior Center Wednesday, November 9 from 5 to 7 p.m. for an Exploring Our World event.

Celebrate social oneness while exploring the South American country of Venezuela through a variety of dance and musical performances, and hear firsthand accounts about growing up in Venezuela and making the journey to the United States.
