Valley-Wide Employment Expo back in-person at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center on Sept. 28. Free event offers hundreds of job opportunities in and near the Coachella Valley.

Who:     Over 80 employers and event organizers will welcome job seekers to the 27th Valley-Wide Employment Expo, which returns in-person after two years of being virtual. Opening ceremony speakers to include:

Jeffrey Van Wagenen, County Executive Officer

Waymond Fermon, Mayor of Indio

V. Manuel Perez, Fourth District Supervisor

Jeff Hewitt, Fifth District Supervisor

Heidi Marshall, Director of Housing and Workforce Solutions

Sayori Baldwin, Director of Department of Public Social Services

What:     This free event will offer hundreds of positions from a variety of industries including education, gaming, healthcare, hospitality, information technology, logistics and transportation. Job seekers are encouraged to register at https://www.desertjobexpo.com/ and bring copies of their resume along with a picture ID on day of event. Walk-ins will also be accepted.

Where:     Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Special Events Center, 84-245 Indio Springs Pkwy, Indio, CA 92203.

When:     Wednesday, Sept. 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Media arrival starts at 8 a.m. for set-up and opening ceremony. Doors open to the public at 9 a.m.

Why:     To connect job seekers and employers in and near the Coachella Valley. While August’s jobless rates were 4.3% in Riverside County, unemployment was higher in several desert communities with many local employers in need of employees. Media opportunities:     Photography and visuals include interviews with elected officials, employers, workforce development specialists, county leaders, job seekers, and others.
