Sea Country Festival!

The City of Laguna Niguel’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a 3-day festival starting Friday, August 26 through Sunday, August 28!

Bring your friends and family to experience this end-of summer event with music, rides, games, food, and much more! This is a free entry event with a few nominal fees for attractions and food available for purchase.

Pre-sale wristbands will go on sale starting on Monday, August 1 through August 25 at $35 each and can be purchased at Crown Valley Community Center’s front desk. Wristbands include rides only.

Game tickets and food to be purchased separately.

Fall 2022 Recreation Brochure & Classes!

The Fall Recreation Brochure will be available online beginning Monday, August 1. Classes will also be open for registration beginning on August 1. Check out more than 100 different classes for all ages, including a number of different workshops and special events too!

Fall Boutique & Crafts Faire Exhibitors Wanted!

Interested in participating in this year’s Fall Boutique & Crafts Faire? Submit your application to participate as a vendor. The deadline to apply is Wednesday, August 31. The event will take place on Saturday, October 1 from 9am-2pm at Crown Valley Community Center.

Sea Country Festival:
Purchase Ride Wristbands
Monday, August 1 - Thursday, August 25
Cost: $35 - $40

Pre-sale wristbands for the Sea Country Festival will go on sale starting Monday, August 1 through Thursday, August 25 at $35 each per day.

Pre-sale wristbands can be purchased at the Crown Valley Community Center during normal business hours. Wristbands will also be available for purchase at the Festival for $40 each per day.

Wristbands include rides only. Food will be available for purchase and game participation to be purchased separately.

Timeless Melodies: Frank Sinatra Part 1
Tuesday, August 2, 1:30pm - 2:30pm
Cost - $5

Take a trip down memory lane and learn about famous stars from yesteryear. Find out more about their lives and learn interesting facts and insights. The presentation includes music, short videos, and historical pictures from the past.

Tickets are only $5 dollars and include light refreshments.

Aqua Fitness
Tuesday, August 2 - Thursday, August 18 10am - 11am
Cost - $80

Aqua Fitness classes now available at the Laguna Niguel Aquatics Center!

This aqua fitness class is a great way to get into shape with little to no impact on your joints. We focus on cardio, balance, and strengthening the entire body. We work in the shallow end and use a noodle for all kinds of fun exercise. Class is taught medium and high intensity with modified exercises offered to beginners.

Classes take place on Tuesday and Thursday's from 10am - 11am.

Please bring your own pool noodle.

Bloomin' Senior Gardening Lecture
Right Pant, Right Place:
Successful Garden Panning

Where to start? There are so many essentials to consider in planning a garden: plant selection, soil, water, hardscape, softscape, and maintenance. Whew!

Get started by attending this presentation where UC Master Gardeners of Orange County will talk about making a footprint, activity mapping, climate, microclimate, composting, when to plant, the right plant in the right place and other resources you'll need to create a beautiful garden.

Concerts take place from 6:30-8pm at Crown Valley Park Amphitheater. Blankets and low back chairs may be placed out beginning at 6am on concert days.

Additional parking and a complimentary shuttle is available from 5:30 - 9:30pm from City Hall – 30111 Crown Valley Parkway.

Movies in the Moonlight:
A Dog's Purpose
Saturday, August 6, 7:30 - 9:30pm
FREE

Together with the Niguel Botanical Preserve, the Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring a FREE movie at the Crown Valley Park amphitheater, A Dog’s Purpose. Bring a blanket and low back chair and enjoy an evening under the stars!

Mission Viejo Animal Services will be present at the beginning of the event to help educate you all about pets that are available for adoption and their services in the community. Treats will be available for purchase at the snack bar.

Please leave your pets at home for the enjoyment of all attending this event.   

Dog Bite Prevention Workshop
Wednesday, August 10, 6pm - 7pm
FREE

Stay safe and comfortable when around unfamiliar dogs. Learn the basics on dog body language and behavior and how to avoid being bitten and how to prevent your dog from biting others.

This workshop will be presented by Animal Control Officers and is appropriate for all ages. Tips will also be provided on the effectiveness and proper use of leashes, collars, harnesses and muzzles.

In partnership with Mission Viejo Animal Services this workshop will take place at the Crown Valley Community Center.

Senior Lecture:
Balance and Fall Prevention
Thursday, August 11 @ 1pm

The lecture will focus on balance problems and fall prevention which will include a discussion on the definition of a fall, and its impact on individuals and society.

There is a special focus on risk factors as identifying risks is key to prevention.

The Holiday Parade Executive Committee is now recruiting! Positions that are available are: Car Clubs/VIP Convertibles Coordinator, Entrance and Staging Coordinator, Sponsorship/Marketing Chair, and VIP’s/Dignitaries & Celebrity Coordinator.
