Winter Classes Begin this Week for Adults, Jan. 9 for Youth

Registration for the Winter I session of our classes and activities is open to all and classes are getting underway. Make sure to sign up before your favorite classes fill up or start without you! Adult classes begin throughout this week of Jan. 2 and youth programs Jan. 9, with both wrapping up Feb. 26.

NEW Walking Basketball Provides New Spin on Pickup Games

Do you still enjoy a good pickup basketball game, but may not have the hops left in your knees to get up? Check out our NEW and FREE Walking Basketball program, where all players must keep one heel on the floor at all times and will be shooting on 8-feet-tall baskets.

Recommended for ages 40 and older, but open to all, this self-officiated drop-in basketball program will run 9-11 a.m. Wednesdays in Main Gym 1 starting Jan. 11 at the Kirksey Recreation Center. Check out the flyer for more details. Although the program is free, a membership or day pass is required to enter the facility.

Parlor Games to Help Drive the Cold Winter Away Jan. 14 at Greenmead

Help Drive the Cold Winter Away with 1800s Parlor Games noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Greenmead Historical Park. Learn about the games quickly before diving into a fun afternoon of trying out the games. Delicious treats, hot chocolate and coffee will also be provided for this fun, family event.

Geared toward ages 5 and older, make sure to register in advance.
