The City Manager’s Weekly Update is published and distributed each week to inform the Council, City employees, and the public about current City activities and information.

EV Public Charging Stations

Electric vehicle (EV) drivers now have new public charging options available to them. Lodi Electric Utility recently completed a project to replace its older public EV charging stations with new Level II ChargePoint EV charging stations.

These new stations are available at Hutchins Street Square, Finance Department Parking Lot, Downtown Parking Garage, and City Hall.
While these stations are currently available to the public free of charge, the City anticipates it will begin charging within the next year to recover ongoing costs.  Please note overnight parking at these locations is not permitted and parking/charging time is limited to 4 hours to ensure availability to others.  Additional charging locations to be added within the next few months include the City’s Library parking lot and the Kofu Park parking lot.

Congratulations Sergeant Holz!

Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Ryan Holz, who graduated from the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute this week.

This program consists of eight sessions and is designed to stimulate personal growth, leadership, and ethical decision-making for law enforcement front-line supervisors. Each session is fast-paced and packed with information, and was created to meet the needs of working professionals. The Program compels them to take a hard look at their leadership style, and the role that society places in its law enforcement officers.

Jerry Dewalt

We are sorry to share that one of our retirees, Jerry Dewalt, passed away Saturday, October 8. Jerry started with the City of Lodi in 1995 in the Water and Wastewater Division. Over the years, he worked his way to the position of Public Works Inspector where he was responsible for overseeing the construction of many capital improvement projects that benefit our residents to this day. Jerry had a knack for holding contractors accountable while maintaining good relationships with them. He is remembered for his hard work, positive attitude, and the fact that you could always count on him to greet you with a smile. He retired on March 1, 2021, after 26 years of dedicated public service.
