Districting Changes Coming to Lomita

The City of Lomita is considering the transition to district-based elections and is seeking your assistance in developing a list of neighborhoods and “communities of interest” (COI) to consider while drawing district lines.

Communities of interest are defined as:

- groups of people that share common social or economic interests,

- groups that live in a geographically defined area, and

- groups that should be included within a single district for purposes of effective and fair representation in future elections

Public Tours Resume at Cypress Water Production Facility

As part of our commitment to open and transparent operations of our municipal water system, the City of Lomita is hosting a series of one-hour tours of the Cypress Water Production Facility (CWPF) open to residents and business owners. The tours are an opportunity for residents to get answers to some common water questions and discuss the City's water supply and upcoming projects and programs. Join us for one of our tours. Urgent Call to Action

In case you missed it, the Metropolitan Water District (MWD) is calling residents and businesses in portions of the greater Los Angeles County to suspend outdoor water use for 15 days starting on Tuesday, September 6th. During this time, the Upper Feeder, a critical imported water pipeline, will undergo emergency repairs.

Because the shutdown will cause the City’s supply to change from Colorado River to State Water Project, Lomita residents are being asked by MWD to eliminate outdoor water use during this 15-day time period.
