When Pets Excessively Bark

Barking is natural for dogs, but sometimes it can be of excess which can lead to frustrated owners and neighbors. If you have a dog who is barking excessively it is important to try to understand what is causing the barking. Dogs use their barking as a means of communicating with us when they need something: to go outside, to play, because they are hungry or bored, or most commonly in response to something happening in their environment. Blocking those distractions may help.

The city partners with Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) to address animal services for our community. DACC is dedicated to helping resolve such situations to peacefully coexist. Enforcement efforts include courtesy letters, warnings, and eventual citations that could result in fines. Contrary to popular belief, a dog will not euthanized if a complaint is filed.

Lomita allows a maximum of 3 dogs or cats over the age of six months in a single household.

Winter Tour Dates of Water Facility Now Available

Lomita is committed to the open and transparent operations of its water system. As part of that commitment, Lomita has once again scheduled a series of one-hour tours of the Cypress Water Production Facility. The tours provide residents a wonderful opportunity to learn about the city's water supply and upcoming projects and programs to improve water delivery and quality. Lomita residents and business owners are encouraged to register online at lomitawater.com/water-tours.
