Greetings!

This Thanksgiving weekend we are reminding the community to please celebrate safely. Whether you are traveling or staying local this Thanksgiving break, we have tips and important information to share with you.

As you begin your holiday shopping, friendly reminder that this Saturday, November 26, is 'Small Business Saturday.' Shop small by supporting local businesses. The City will be offering FREE parking at some business corridors.

The Long Beach Health and Human Services Department is urging the community to take preventative steps to stay safe and healthy as Respiratory viruses such as the flu and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) are currently circulating at higher rates than usual for this time of year.

City Encourages Residents to Shop Local by Participating in Small Business Saturday

The City of Long Beach is encouraging residents to support local businesses by participating in Small Business Saturday, taking place on Saturday, Nov. 26. As the holiday shopping season officially kicks off, the City is launching a social media campaign to promote shopping local and encourage people to discover local businesses and will also offer free metered parking at multiple shopping areas in Long Beach.

Long Beach Pledge – Guaranteed Income Pilot Application Now Open

Today, the City of Long Beach launched the application period for the Long Beach Pledge, the City’s guaranteed income pilot program. The program will provide $500 a month for 12 months to 250 families with children who live in the 90813 zip code, are below 100% of the federal poverty line and have one income earner for their household. The application is open for eligible residents now through Jan. 17, 2023, at 4:59 p.m. (PST). Learn more

Long Beach City Council Approves City’s Draft Blueprint 2.0 for Economic Development

On Nov. 15, 2022, the Long Beach City Council approved the City’s Draft Blueprint 2.0 for Economic Development (Blueprint 2.0), a comprehensive plan that will guide the City's overall economic development work over the next 10 years to create equitable economic opportunities for workers, investors and entrepreneurs in Long Beach.
