Mayor Gary Christenson is pleased to announce that the bike sharing program Bluebikes is now up and running in three locations in Malden. Stations are located on Exchange Street at Commercial Street, the Northern Strand Bike Path at Main Street (across from Breakfast Club - formerly Doo Wop Diner) and at Malden High School on Holden Street near the Bike Path. With more than 400 stations in the immediate area, Bluebikes are a fun, affordable and convenient mode of transportation.

“We are proud to partner with the Bluebikes program, which increases the Malden community's access to biking as a healthy and environmentally friendly way to travel,” said Mayor Gary Christenson. “The Bluebikes program is a great step in promoting safe and sustainable modes of transportation for our many commuters who cannot always rely on travel by car or other forms of public transit.”

Mayor Christenson is also pleased to announce that he has authorized the use of ARPA funds to make available a limited number of 30-day Bluebikes one-month memberships free of charge to Malden residents! “We wanted to give our residents a no-cost way of trying out this new service to see if it’s something they can make part of their regular transportation in Malden” said Mayor Christenson.
