The City has released a Malden Orange Line Closure Guide explaining the shutdown that begins Friday, August 19^th at 9 PM that will last until Sunday, September 18^th. This resource will summarize Malden residents’ alternative travel options and what they can expect from the closure. “We took it upon ourselves to summarize the Orange Line shutdown in a way that is helpful to Malden residents,” said Mayor Gary Christenson. “It is clear that the shuttle routes and alternative travel options can be confusing, so we are hoping this guide will help Maldonians plan for the upcoming month.” said Mayor Gary Christenson.

Throughout the closure, the City will be actively communicating with residents, assessing impacts to local traffic, and monitoring any other safety issues that may occur. "We will continue advocating for our residents to make sure they are supported throughout this unprecedented shutdown,” said Christenson. The Mayor has made it clear Malden is doing everything it can to work with the MBTA to ensure the most efficient ride in and out of Malden and that his staff is here to help clear up any confusion about this complex shutdown.  “If any of this is confusing to our residents, we are here to help.  Just call our office and we will get an answer to your questions.”
