City Of Melrose Annual Summer Stroll Is This Friday, July 29

The Melrose Chamber of Commerce, with support from the City of Melrose, will host the Ninth Annual Summer Stroll on Friday, July 29, 2022, in downtown Melrose. This free event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

To create a spacious pedestrian walkway, Main Street between Upham and Grove Streets and part of Essex Street will be closed to vehicles. Event goers will enjoy shopping, browsing, eating and live music performed by local musicians in several locations. Restaurants will sell and serve food and beverages on the sidewalk, while local merchants will offer specials, demos and sales at their businesses.

Traffic Advisory

On Friday, July 29, the following streets will be closed from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. to allow for the annual Summer Stroll to take place in downtown Melrose:

- Main Street from Upham Street to Grove Street
- Essex Street from Main Street to Wood + Fire restaurant
- West Foster Street from Myrtle Street to Leonard Road
- Please seek alternate routes.

MBTA Bus Route Changes

The following temporary changes will be in place from 3 PM – 10 PM on Friday, July 29th:

- All routes outbound from Oak Grove station will take a right on Grove, left on Lebanon, left on Upham, right on Main Street, and then will follow the regular route.
- All routes going inbound to Oak Grove station will take a left on Upham, right on Lebanon, right on Grove, and left on Main Street, then will follow the regular route.

Alcoholic Beverages

Please be advised no alcoholic beverages purchased outside the Summer Stroll parameters are permitted.
