The Melrose Election Office encourages residents to submit their requests for Mail in Ballots by Monday, August 29 at 5 p.m. — one week ahead of the September 6 State Primary. Mail in Ballot applications can be mailed to the Melrose Election office or deposited into the secure ballot drop box located in the alleyway between the U.S post office and City Hall building.

Step 1: Apply for a Ballot

(The deadline to request a mail in ballot for the September 6 State Primary Election is Monday, August 29 by 5 p.m.)

You can request a ballot by filling out the vote by mail application found on the City’s website (cityofmelrose.org/elections) or by sending a signed request to the Election Commission Office that includes:

-Your name;
-The address where you are registered to vote;
-The address where you want the ballot to be sent; and
-Your signature

Mail your application to the Melrose Election office address or deposit it into the secure ballot drop box located in the alleyway between the U.S post office and City Hall building.

-You can also scan the signed completed application or take a photo of your signed completed application and email it to [email protected]. Attach the application as a pdf or jpg.

Step 2: Vote! When your Ballot Arrives

-The Election office will process your application and mail you a ballot as soon as it is available
-After completing your ballot, place it in the inner envelope, sign the application and seal it

Step 3: Return your Ballot by the Close of Polls on Election Day
