City of Melrose Will Open Cooling Center As It Braces For Extreme Heat This Weekend

Concerned for the wellbeing of its residents during the heatwave, the City of Melrose will operate a Cooling Center tomorrow, Saturday, July 23, and Sunday, July 24, from 11:00 a.m. — 8 p.m. at the Milano Center’s Tierney Hall located at 201 W Foster St in Melrose.

The City will provide residents water in an effort to help them stay hydrated. Residents can also use the center’s Wi-Fi and enjoy the center’s recently installed central cooling system. Please note that no food will be provided, however visitors can bring their own food.

Need a ride?

Community members who need a ride to the Cooling Center can call a Milano Center Driver at 1-781-507-1013 between the hours of 11 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The driver will offer round trip rides to and from the Milano Center within Melrose only.
