MILLBRAE, CA— On August 18, 2022, at approximately 1:15 PM, a call came in with reports of suspicious circumstances that included the smell of gas. Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrived on the scene within minutes near the Larkspur and Skyline Area in Millbrae. The Sheriff’s Office set up a perimeter by closing the on and off ramps for Interstate 280, cleared the San Andres Trail, and reported no hazardous findings.

The City of Millbrae, Central County Fire Department (CCFD), and San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office was not notified by PG&E that work was being completed.

However, CCFD and the Sheriff’s Office confirmed the gas smell was due to scheduled work at the Skyline Boulevard & Sneath Lane facility in San Bruno and the facility near Larkspur Drive and Skyline Boulevard in Millbrae by PG&E.
