Gavilan College's Food Distribution
Drive through distribution is available on the first and third Thursday of every month.
Gilroy Campus, 5055 Santa Teresa Blvd., Gilroy, CA 95020.
To help Gavilan manage needed supplies, register online for the next distribution.
Registered families will receive an email or text message with their pickup window
at least 24 hours prior to the distribution.

National Suicide Prevention Week
The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) recognizes the month of September as National Suicide Prevention Month: a moment in time in which we rally the public to create awareness of this leading cause of death, and inspire more and more people to learn how they can play a role in their communities in helping to save lives.
The County's Behavioral Health Services Department is hosting a
one-day conference on September 1, via Zoom, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Registration is required.

and achievements of the American worker.
City offices are closed Monday, September 5, in recognition of Labor Day.
Offices will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 6.
All emergency and essential City services will still be available.

The Open Space Authority is pleased to work with
the San Jose Astronomical Association (SJAA) to co-host a community star party
at Rancho Cañada del Oro Open Space Preserve.
This preserve features night skies so dark you can see the band of our
Milky Way galaxy in the summer!
Telescopes will be provided along with docent astronomers to help you
find amazing features in the night sky.
Registration is required but tickets are FREE.

Open Space Preserve Weekday Hike
Rancho Cañada del Oro
Hosted by Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST)
10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
You will be guided by POST Ambassadors who will share with you the history of the preserve, the region, and the importance of conservation in the area.
The hike is moderate to strenuous at about 4 miles round trip
with about 700 feet of gradual elevation gain.
