Building Division releases Draft Electrification Code & Survey

In alignment with the City's General Plan, Climate Action Plan, and Short-Term City goals, the Building Division has recently developed a draft Electrification Code that would require an all-electric new building requirement for new or significantly remodeled homes, apartments, add-ons, and accessory dwelling units (ADU)s. All-electric residential buildings will have the benefit of being emissions-free, which improves indoor and outdoor air quality, increases energy efficiency, and helps achieve local, regional, and statewide emission reduction goals.
