Call for Artists
Napa Dia de los Muertos and 1st & Main Temporary Mural

The City of Napa has open calls for two opportunities.

Napa Dia de los Muertos

Napa Dia de los Muertos will take place Saturday, November 5th, 2022 from 3- 8pm in downtown Napa. Artists are invited to display outdoor sculptures, art installations, puppetry, craft/art vendors, or altars that share their own history, culture and traditions related to the Dia de los Muertos. 1st and Main St. Temporary Mural  

This project will be located on First Street and Main Street in Napa. The goal of the mural is to enhance the aesthetics at this downtown vacant lot along it’s temporary fence. The mural will offer a source of inspiration and pride for the community as the downtown corridor navigates consistent growth and revitalization. For more detail find the Call for Artists Here. Together Time

Las Flores Community Center

We’re excited to be bringing back a much-needed preschool program starting Friday, September 16! Meant for those ages 2-3 years - together you and your child will experience songs, art and movement activities that introduce children to a social classroom setting while having a great time! Adult/guardian participation is required. Register for Together Time here!

West Coast Flyers
Kennedy Park

Are you interested in the exciting and challenging hobby of remote control planes? Napa has their own remote control airfield at Kennedy Park! The West Coast Flyers’ field is an AMA certified flying club that specializes in small to medium sized RC aircraft, including gas, electric, wooden and foam airplanes. Newcomers to the hobby can find instruction for free by contacting our team of flying instructors. New students can use club student equipment and fly with an instructor, while experienced fliers can experience our camaraderie and facilities. The airfield offers covered seating, test stands, and 400ft of runway set against the Napa River.

Drop in Badminton
Las Flores Community Center
Fridays from 6-9pm

Drop in Badminton is returns starting Friday, September 16. This program is open for those 16+ and is $7/person. Anyone under 18 and still in high school must have a parent/guardian signature on file before participating. Rackets, nets, and birdies are all provided. Register ahead of time online or in person at our front desk.

Fall Youth Sports

Summer is over and it's time to get back in the game. Fall Youth Sports Registration is now open! Whether you are wanting to learn how to play, or grow your skills then we have you covered. Our current Fall Youth Sports program offerings are Volleyball, Tennis, Baseball, Fencing or Soccer. Register for fall sports HERE.

Garden Design and Planning
Las Flores Community Center
Saturday, September 24, 2022
11:00 am - 1:00 pm

Learn about garden design and planning with emphasis on the right plant in the right place using these simple steps: 1) Evaluate your landscape and make a plan 2) Choose the correct plants for your plan and area 3) Determine the ideal placement for your plants 4) Follow up with a management plan for your plant selections. Class is held on-site outdoors at the Las Flores Learning Garden, a City of Napa and UC Master Gardener partnership. Attendees should be prepared for outdoor and sunny conditions in the garden. Bring your own drinking water. The UC Master Gardeners offers monthly educational events on various horticultural topics on the last Saturday of each month at the Las Flores Learning Garden.

Adult Softball League

Grab some friends or co-workers and your gloves for some Fall Sandlot Fun in our Adult Softball League. Our 6-week, modified program will take you back to your days as a kid playing in the neighborhood with your friends. Bats and balls are provided to even the playing field and games are designed to move along to limit standing around in the outfield. Register for Adult Softball HERE.

Children's Museum of Napa Valley presents miniRock, a kids dance party, for the kids, tweens, and teens of Napa Valley. Dance to the beats of local DJ Jugee & enjoy the wonderful downtown vibes. Presented by the Children's Museum of Napa Valley, EPPICH arts and Napa Parks & Recreation. Creating a place for us all to boogie!

At the end of a long day, come and meditate with us one evening a week.  In just one hour, you could be taking steps to live a more serene and happy life!

The Secrets of Writing an Interesting Historical Narrative

Starts September 20th  Tuesday 6:30pm $75
Discover the secrets of transforming raw historical information-whether it be family history, your home or some interesting historical account- into a fascinating and entertaining narrative. Professional historian and Napa Native Rebecca Yerger will provide tips and tricks to get you started.

Napa History Comes Alive!

Join Napa historian and City of Napa Mayor, Scott Sedgley, for an engaging walk into the history of downtown Napa. Scott's engaging personality and gift for storytelling will make Napa's history come alive! One day only, 10/7 Friday 9am meet at Goodman Library- Free

Read with a Ranger

Veteran's Memorial Park

Gather for social Latin dancing free of charge in an uplifting, safe space. ¡Baila, Napa! aims to promote an appreciation and enjoyment of Latin dance styles in the Napa community. Come experience the fun for yourself!

Napa County Coastal Cleanup
Napa Volunteers are needed to clean up Napa County’s streets & creeks!
September 17th 9am-12pm
Coastal Cleanup Day is a statewide effort to clean trash and debris from beaches, bays, creeks, and rivers. This year, we have locations from Calistoga and Berryessa all the way down the valley into American Canyon. Help us keep Napa clean! Please bring your own bucket for trash collection. If you have them, bring reusable gloves and a trash grabber!

Main Street Boat Dock
As the weather heats up you can cool off at the Main Street Boat dock. Short term mooring for private vessels and non-motorized craft launch is available at the dock. You can also book an adventure with one of our awesome vendors! See you on the River!
