Double-length grapple trucks from disaster response contractor Phillips & Jordan, Inc. are clearing curbside debris throughout the city 7 days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. As of yesterday afternoon, they've cleared 66,500 cubic yards of vegetative debris and 18,375 cubic yards of construction & demolition debris.

In addition, as part of our ongoing efforts to clear curbsides citywide, we've opened a local site for residents to drop off Hurricane Ian debris 7 days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 495 Industrial Park Ave.

Residents are our first priority; commercial and contractor vehicles are not permitted. Proof of City of New Smyrna Beach residency is required and residents are responsible for unloading their own debris and emptying bagged waste. A family member may bring debris to the site for an elderly or infirm resident with proof of residency showing where the debris originated.

Residents are encouraged to bring separated yard and construction & demolition debris but are asked to not include electronic waste, tires, or large appliances.
