From: City of Oakland Park

Hurricane Ian Update - September 27, 2022 - 10 p.m.

The City of Oakland Park continues to monitor Hurricane Ian.  Broward County is under a Flood Warning and Tropical Storm Warning. This storm coincides with King Tides, which are expected to occur until September 30th. The high tides and heavy rain may cause flooding in low-lying areas.

CITY FACILITIES AND  PROGRAMS
All City facilities will be closed to the public on Wednesday, September 28th, 2022.

All Parks programming is suspended until further notice.

After-care programming will be closed on Wednesday, September 28th, and Thursday, September 29th, 2022.

SOLID WASTE AND BULK TRASH SERVICES
Bulk Trash is picked up during the week starting on Monday. It generally takes several days to complete pick-up in each zone. Today the bulk trash drop-off site closed operations due to the hurricane. This resulted in the suspension of bulk pick-up until the site reopens and service can safely resume. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Solid waste cart collection services are expected to continue on their regular schedule. Please be advised that sanitation collection service may be delayed. Services may be suspended if weather conditions deteriorate.

STAY SAFE
We encourage members of the community to be prepared and remain alert. Continue to monitor weather conditions.

Motorists are encouraged to stay off the roads. Please do not walk or drive through flooded areas. If you see a sign or barricade on a street, do not drive around it.  Turn around and find an alternative route.
