City Attorney Brian Pierik had nothing to report.

Actions taken by the City Council Regular meeting on November 16, 2022, include:

-Received PickPG.org Economic Development Website presentation

-Approved Minutes of the November 2, 2022 City Council Special and Regular Meetings

-Held second reading and adopted an ordinance adopting the 2022 edition of the California Building Standards Codes, with amendments

-Received Check Register Report - October 2022 

-Received Core Revenue Report for October 2022

-Received First Quarter Purchase Order Report

-Received First Quarter Capital Project Budget Report

-Received First Quarter Budget Report

-Received First Quarter 22/23 Workers' Compensation Report

-Received report of emergency directives/modifications

-Received Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Task Force Minutes: October 10, 2022

-Introduced and held first reading of an ordinance to amend the salary classification schedule modifying salary ranges for Cashier, Intern, Lighthouse Docent Coordinator, Recreation Assistant I, Recreation Assistant II and Recreation Supervisor; striking language on the ordinance title that follows “…Minimum Wage;”

-Approved an amendment to the Fiscal Year 22/23 Operating and Capital Improvement Budget

-Introduced and held first reading of an ordinance amending the FY22/23 Budget

-Approved a resolution authorizing an application to the State Housing and Community Development (HCD) for Permanent Local Housing Allocation grant funds and approved the amendment to the 5-year plan

-Received the Fourth Quarter Budget Report and a Preliminary Fiscal Year 21/22 Financial Update

-Councilmember Coletti and Mayor Pro Tem Amelio volunteered for the General Plan Update RFP Evaluation Committee

-Received the 2022 Community Survey Results Report

The next Regular City Council Meeting is scheduled for December 7, 2022

Veteran’s Day Ceremony. Mayor Pro Tem Joe Amelio, with the assistance of Michael Bekker of the Cannery Row Company and City staff, arranged for a well-received Veteran’s Day Ceremony at Lovers Point Park this past Friday, November 11. Highlights of the ceremony included an inspiring keynote speech delivered by Lt. Colonel Anna Voyne of the Defense Language Institute, and patriotic music performed by the Pacific Grove High School Breaker Band. Piper Cassie Talbert and Trumpeter Brian Stock also delivered beautiful performances for the gathered crowd yoverlooking the ocean at Lovers Point. Thank you to Mayor Pro Tem Joe Amelio, Michael Bekker, Dan Gho and Roque Pinero for all the effort to organize and stage this successful event!
