Governor Announces New Statewide Space Industry Task Force

The Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) announced a new Space Industry Task Force, to be led by GO-Biz Director and Senior Advisor to Governor Gavin Newsom, Dee Dee Myers. The City of Paso Robles applauds the formation of this task force and the governor’s acknowledgment of the space industry’s role as a significant economic driver for the state. The move reinforces the City’s commitment to achieving a spaceport designation at the Paso Robles Municipal Airport.

City Library Hosts Cal Poly CubeSat Presentation by Professor Danielson

On September 1, the Paso Robles City Library hosted a presentation by Henry Danielson, CISSO Technology Advisor at Cal Poly’s Cybersecurity Institute (CCI), on CubeSat technology and the plan for a spaceport in Paso Robles before a full house in the Library Conference Room.  The Library organizes a wide range of informative and educational events throughout the year.  To learn more, visit the Paso Robles City Library Events Calendar.

September is California Wine Month 

Join in, celebrate, and support this important pillar of our local economy!  September is California Wine Month and we're celebrating with specialty events, seasonal releases and lots of local Paso Robles wines!  With over 300 wineries in Paso Robles Wine Country, we'll be celebrating all month long. Enjoy grape stomps, barrel tastings, winemaker dinners, vineyard tours, food & wine pairings, live music and more… 

September 15 to October 15 is Hispanic American Heritage Month

This month celebrates the impact Hispanic entrepreneurs have had on the U.S. economy. Did you know:

-Nearly 1 in 4 new businesses is Hispanic-owned.

-The nearly 5 million Hispanic-owned businesses in the United States contribute more than $800 billion to the American economy annually.

-Hispanic businesses employ about 1 million workers, with over $100 billion in annual payroll.
