The City of Paso Robles is proposing to gradually phase in water rate adjustments over the next five years to support water system operating and maintenance expenses, fund the City’s share of debt service for the Nacimiento Water Project, and provide funding for capital improvements needed to support safe and reliable service. All City water customers are receiving notices in the mail to announce a public hearing on the proposed water rate increases on December 20th, 2022 at 6:30 pm. More information
Speeders Beware
The Paso Robles Police Department will increase patrols throughout the community and provide other traffic safety programs to help reduce the number of serious injuries and deaths on roads thanks to a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The grant will support ongoing traffic safety efforts in the community to stop the most unlawful and dangerous behaviors that put people at risk. The program runs through September 2023. "SaveStation" Installed in City Park
Paso Robles Fire and Emergency Services is pleased to announce the installation of a new life safety feature for our community: the first 24/7 publicly accessible Automated External Defibrillator (AED). The AED is housed in a specially designed, climate-controlled cabinet known as a “SaveStation.” It can tolerate extreme weather and is available to anyone in the downtown city park and surrounding businesses. Special Planning Commission Meeting on ADU's
On Tuesday, November 29, the Planning Commission will be provided a presentation on a proposed accessory dwelling unit (ADU) urgency ordinance to bring the City’s rules into compliance with state law. The City Council will then hold a public hearing at their regular meeting on December 6, 2022. The ordinance will be considered on an urgency basis due to recently adopted changes to state law that become effective on January 1, 2023.

New Year's Eve Celebration
The City of Paso Robles is hosting a FREE New Year’s Eve celebration in the downtown City Park that includes a bonfire, band, DJ, fire dancers and more. The celebration runs from 7-11PM. A 9PM ball drop is set to coincide with midnight on the East Coast so attendees can enjoy ringing in the New Year and still be home before midnight. All ages are welcome, there is no charge for admission. More info
City Awarded Broadband Grant
The cities of Paso Robles and Atascadero were recently awarded a $200,000 grant from the California Public Utilities Commission for the North County Broadband Strategic Plan. The grant is for costs related to the development of broadband network projects to benefit unserved or underserved Californians. Paso Robles and Atascadero have partnered to increase internet access for the residents and businesses of Northern San Luis Obispo County. More info

Tai Chi
Tai chi, moving meditation, is a noncompetitive, self-paced system of gentle physical exercise and stretching. Each posture flows into the next without pause, ensuring that your body is in constant motion. The benefits of tai chi may include a decrease in stress anxiety and depression and an improvement in mood, flexibility, balance, agility energy in stamina. Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Centennial Park Acorn Room. $65/8 punch pass or $10 drop in. Learn more and register here.
Youth Evolution Basketball
Using Youth Evolution’s progressive curriculum and focusing on the whole player, this camp will teach your child the important skills needed both on and off the court. Ages 4-12. Tuesdays, December 6-January 10 (no class 12/27) from 4 PM to 6:10 PM in the Centennial Park Gym. Times vary based on age.

Aqua Jam Cardio
Join Aqua Zumba instructor Jennifer Loewen Nicolds for this low impact 30-minute warm water workout. This class is designed to be a full body workout in the indoor warm water Municipal Pool. Bathing suit required; water shoes recommended. Participants must be able to swim and enter and exit the pool independently. Tuesdays and Thursdays. $45/mo. Class times are: 11:30 AM, 12:05 PM and 12:40 PM. Class size is limited and participants must register with instructor.Learn more and register here.

The Paso Robles City Library has returned to offering weekly in-person Preschool Story Time for ages 3-6 with Youth Services Librarian Melissa Bailey. Join her on Wednesdays for stories, movement, music, and a craft activity. Children can practice their listening and socialization skills while having lots of fun. Space is very limited so come early and secure your seat.

Foster Care Needed in Paso Robles
SLO County is currently facing an unprecedented shortage of available resource family homes to care for foster youth, 51 of whom are from Paso Robles. The two most pressing needs are for homes willing to provide short-term care as an emergency shelter home or homes willing to care for school-aged youth ages 6-18, especially teenagers. Translation Services Available
The City of Paso Robles uses a translation service to help callers more quickly. The service allows City staff to easily connect to a third-party translation service via a conference call. The service has been in use by the Police Department for some time and is now available in all departments when callers access the City’s information line at 805.227.7276.
