City Of Plainview Fire Department Recognizes Firefighter Of The Year, Others At Pinning Ceromony

Several recognitions were presented including Firefighter of the Year – Jordan King, Equipment Operator of the Year – Lucas Johnson, Life Saving Award – Bruce Fowler, Crayton Fowler, Carson Johnson and Michael Timmins, Distinguished Company Award – Seth Stephens, Kevin Goss, Jordan Prater, Michael Frizzell, Kevin Walls, Jordan King, Carlos Martinez and Tyler Roberson.

Other awards included Friend of the Fire Department – Cecilia “CC” Madeline Ward, Area Department Recognition to Tulia Fire Department, Halfway Fire Department, Hale Center Fire Department and American Medical Response and a dedication to Captain James Harrison Hart.

Several promotions were recognized via badge pinning including Department staff receiving badges include Chief Bobby Gipson, Fire Marshal Chris Chandler, Lt. Kevin Goss, Lt. Seth Stephens, Lt. Tommy Marquez, Lt. Jordan Prater, Equipment Operator Jesse Edwards, Equipment Operator Crayton Fowler, Equipment Operator Jordan King and Firefighters Caleb Ledbetter, Seth Kelley, Wesley Timmins, Tyler Roberson and Spencer Brown. 

Badge pinning is a proud tradition within Fire Departments, signifying the introduction of department members to their new duties or newly hired positions. It includes a swearing-in of each person who received a promotion or newly hired position since the last pinning ceremony and firefighters select a special person to pin the badge on their uniform.
