A few things to note on the graph:

-Left side of graph: gallons of water (in millions) total.

-Right side of the graph: gallons of water used per person.

-Red Line: Goal of 130 gallons of water per person, per day.

-Yellow: Stage One Drought Conditions (only met when daily water use reaches 50% of available production capacity for at least three days and weather indicates water usage will historically remain high).

During the summer months, water usage will customarily be higher due to lawn watering, swimming pools, hot weather and more. Winter months will see normally see a decline in water use.

The City of Plainview began implementing the Water Conservation Plan with the twice-a-week conservation water schedule, as well as other best management practices including a water conservation retrofit program, a leak detection and repair program, water loss control measures, requirements for water conservation landscape for new businesses or industry and universal metering and meter repair and replacement program.
