Cool Zone Lounge Opens at Community Center

Just in time for the extended heat wave, the Mickey Cafagna Community Center lounge has been added to the list of Cool Zones in San Diego County.  » Cool Zones are free, located throughout San Diego County, and a way for residents to lower individual utility usage and help conserve energy for the whole community. 

Espola Road Pathway Open for Use

The finishing touches are still in progress on the Espola Road Safety Improvement project, but the pathway is open for use! Recent activities have included completing the safety screen, trimming lodgepole posts, hydroseeding, and applying anti-graffiti coating on the retaining walls. $100K Donation to Enrich Older Adult Programs

The City of Poway received a generous $100,000 donation from the Friends of Poway Seniors (FOPS) earmarked for older adult programming at the city’s new multigenerational Mickey Cafagna Community Center.  » The money will be used toward bringing on dedicated staff to increase older adult programs and services.

September Art Exhibit at Performing Arts Center

The September Art Exhibition at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts will feature "Silent Skies" by artist Stacie Birky Greene. The paintings and drawings of endangered or extinct birds and amphibians were created "in hopes of drawing attention to the plight of these animals and the connection we all have in what is happening to our planet."
