June 3, 2022

From: City Of Rancho Mirage

Hello Friends & Neighbors

In this month's message, I want to shine the spotlight on the amazing job the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce does for our community and its importance to our local businesses and economy.

I also want to take this opportunity to let you know about all the City programs we offer to our residents. There is a plethora of programs that residents can take advantage of: Adopt-A-Pet, the City's pet adoption incentive program, free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training, EMS Insurance Billing Program, Housing Authority Transportation Services, Medical Cannabis Transportation Reimbursement, the Rancho Mirage Energy Authority, Resident Valet Parking Permit, Resident Golf Card, and many programs for our senior community.

Keep reading to learn more about these programs and find out what the City has in store for our residents on June 10th! It's gonna be a real dinger!

As some of you may already know, prior to becoming a Rancho Mirage City Council member, I was fortunate enough to serve on the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 12 years, rising to Vice Chair in 2011 and then elected to Chairman in 2012.

I truly enjoyed being a part of the Chamber and the important work they do. I am fortunate to be able to continue working with the Chamber through its collaboration with the City. Together, we can maintain and enhance the economic vitality of our local business community.

Our Chamber of Commerce

The purpose of the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce is to be a champion for local business, a catalyst for growth and a convener of leaders and influencers and Chamber CEO Katie Stice does a great job ensuring all is met with success.

“Chamber of commerce work is a pleasure to do because I believe that small business is the heartbeat of America. Being a champion for this wonderful community is an honor and advocating for our businesses is a responsibility that I take seriously. Together we can make great things happen! Come on by for a visit and coffee.”

The Chamber enhances and promotes the economic and civic vitality of our community. They promote business and cultivate opportunities for its members through networking events, educational programs, and community projects. The Chamber seeks to foster a welcoming business environment and enhance the dynamic quality of life in Rancho Mirage and the greater Coachella Valley.

The business climate in Rancho Mirage is strong. As a major destination yet a tight kit business community we are working together, supporting one another, leaning on our resources, and leveling up. Locals and visitor’s alike have amazing and unique opportunities for shopping, dining, gaming, and playing in Rancho Mirage. And we are growing! Recent vacancies are becoming filled and new projects are underway as we work toward a stronger economy.

The City of Rancho Mirage's relationship with the Chamber is second to none with excellent communication and collective efforts in building a better community to live, work and play. The alignment is special also with Rancho Mirage Rotary, Rancho Mirage Woman’s Club, Children’s Discovery Museum, Eisenhower Health, Certified Farmer’s Market and more.
The role of a great chamber in any community is to be the center of the three pillars of business, government, and residents. By constantly connecting these three pillars and planning for positive outcomes, we have a successful future!

Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage 2022 is gearing up to be another summer of fun, food, and drinks. It’s a chance for everyone to get out to visit their favorite spots and try out new ones as well. Nonprofits fundraise by selling the wristbands and locals love getting good deals.

This event is a true economic driver, keeping restaurants busy during the slower months. Visit TasteOfSummerRanchoMirage.org for details.

Besides the weather, the tranquility, and the beautiful surroundings, there's another reason our residents love living in Rancho Mirage...the "perks"!
