September is Hunger Action Month

Turf Rebate Program

The City of Rancho Mirage is partnering with the Coachella Valley Water District (CVWD) to offer rebates to our residents, HOAs, and commercial centers looking to convert from turf to desertscape or artificial grass.  

CVWD rebate: $3.00/sq.ft. for residential, commercial & HOA

City of Rancho Mirage rebate: $3.00/sq.ft for residential and $1.00/sq.ft for HOA/Commercial.

In addition to this rebate, HOA/Commercial projects that are required by the City to use a landscape architect may be eligible for reimbursement of these costs from the City, for up to an additional $6,000.

Desert Theatricals' 2023 Broadway Musical Series

General Admission ticket sales for Desert Theatricals' 2023 Broadway Musical Series, the original Theatre Under the Stars at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater, go on sale on October 1st.

Rancho Mirage residents can purchase general admission tickets for a 15% discount in person at the Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory. Proof of residency is required.  

Dinner Theatre Reserved Seating tickets are on sale now.

Our Community Giving back

Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert Fundraiser

For over three decades, The Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert (CDMoD) has been a valuable community resource for children and families to experience the joy of learning about themselves and the world around them.

CDMoD is currently undergoing a $3 million reIMAGINATION fundraising campaign to reopen in early 2023 with 40 new exhibits and expanded programming for all ages. They are also getting Autism-certified whereby all staff members will have sensory sensitivity training to provide sensory guides for each of the exhibits.

Sunnylands' Films in the Gardens Series Returns

Reopening for an eleventh season on Wednesday, Sept. 14, Sunnylands Center & Gardens revives its free outdoor movie series, Films in the Gardens, with a trio of films based on Agatha Christie’s murder mystery novels.

Screened on three consecutive Fridays in September, the movies are:

Murder on the
Orient Express
Sept. 16

Death on the Nile
Sept. 23

Evil Under the Sun
Sept. 30

All films begin at 7:30 p.m., Sunnylands gates open at 6:00 p.m. Admission is free.  While reservations are not required, carpooling is strongly encouraged. No food or seating is provided. Filmgoers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and small picnics. Large coolers, alcohol, smoking, and pets are not permitted.

Films may be canceled at any time due to weather conditions, including rain, lightning, or strong winds.

Films in the Gardens is presented in partnership with the Palm Springs International Film Festival. Sunnylands Center & Gardens is located at 37977 Bob Hope Drive in Rancho Mirage.

Rancho Mirage Farmers Market is Back in New Location

Rancho Mirage Community Park is the place to be every Friday starting October 7, 2022!  As the new and permanent home of the Rancho Mirage Certified Farmers Market, this well-situated green space will play host to approximately 50 local artisans, chefs, food vendors and farmers every Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. through May!
