The City of Corpus Christi is facing a permanganate chemical shortage; permanganate is a chemical disinfectant that Corpus Christi uses to treat their drinking water. Rockport receives its water supply from San Patricio Municipal Water District which receives raw surface water from Corpus Christi and does not use permanganate in its treatment process. Rockport residences should not experience any changes in odor or taste to our drinking water.
