GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The position will be designated as the person responsible for monitoring of grants in the City, to include financial management, tracking of funds, and verification of grant requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

-Organize and maintain records of all grant documents in central location for tracking and for audit review.

-Monitoring, assessing, and ensuring department complies with all terms and conditions of grant award.

-Track and document the receipt of all grant awards and appropriation and spending of those grant awards.

-Provide monthly summary of grant activity to the Director of Finance.

-Assist the CDBG Grant Coordinator with various duties related to the CDBG Grant, as needed.

-Participate in advocacy and community relations' efforts representing the City of Rogers, as needed.

-Understand grant requirements and purpose of each grant to provide clear, sound, accurate and informative, information and summaries of each grant for the Director of Finance and the auditors.

-On occasion may need to present information on grants as to the purpose, status, and requirements.

-Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Broad knowledge of such fields as accounting, marketing, business administration, finance, etc. Equivalent to a four year college degree, plus 3 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and policy/procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
