GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Media Audio/Video Specialist is a technology support role in the Mayor's Office that ensures optimal virtual communication with citizens, businesses and other organizations in both legislative and non-legislative meetings, including audio/visual assistance.  Provides citizen engagement software support to employees including the City of Rogers website and other citizen-facing portals, and supports citywide communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide Audio/Visual support within various city facilities, coordinating the maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to existing systems.

Monitor and maintain audio and visual supplies and equipment inventory.

Train and support City staff on the usage of audio/visual and conferencing equipment.

Obtain and maintain broad skill sets with ever-changing software, applications, and services in order to provide administration and training services according to City needs.

Assist the Public Relations Manager in citywide communications including social media, website and graphic design.

Create graphic content as needed for all digital communication channels and other needs of the Mayor's Office.

Compose and post online content on the city's website and social media accounts, monitoring these channels appropriately.

Coordinate with city staff to make appropriate changes to the city's website to keep information current, engaging and ADA compliant.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 7 to 11 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Ability to read and understand documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to prepare and interpret bar graphs.

CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS

Ability to utilize common sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral or diagrammed instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving several known variables in situations of a routine nature.

Knowledge in operations of audio/visual equipment and operation, including audio recorders, monitors, cameras, lights and microphones; Basic to intermediate knowledge of audio visual systems and software, the ability to troubleshoot; Experience with the management of multiple social media platforms i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube; Basic proficiency with express graphics design using Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud Express or other graphic and video platforms;
