Communications and Community Engagement Director Named

Communications and Public Relations Manager Mary Robertson has been named as the director for the Communications and Community Engagement Department for the City of St. Joseph.

Robertson is a native of St. Joseph and has been with the City of St. Joseph since 1995. Robertson attended Missouri Western State College and studied communications and business management. Her entire career with the city has been in communications and she has worked together with the technology division for the past ten plus years. During Robertson’s years with the City, she has worked with seven city managers, six mayors and numerous elected officials. Robertson is very familiar with the day-to-day operations of the organization. She possesses extensive knowledge and an invaluable historical perspective on both the organization and the community.

City Manager Bryan Carter stated, “Mary brings an unmatched combination of knowledge, experience, leadership, and intuition that will serve the St. Joseph community well as we transition the manner in which our municipal government interacts with our citizens and keeps them informed.”

Robertson’s appointment is effective immediately and her salary will be $110,000.
