Welcome to the City of Sedona’s monthly newsletter! This is to help keep residents informed on City happenings. Read on for a round up of interesting news, events and announcements.

City Council Recap

Here’s a recap of recent City Council meetings and some decisions you might want to know about:

On Dec. 13, 2022, City Council heard two approval requests from private landowners for single-family subdivisions. By majority consensus, they did not approve The Refuge (11 homes) however did unanimously approve the Chapel View Terrace (6 homes).
On Dec. 13, 2022, City Council by majority consensus voted to amend the Rent Local Program. Now property owners must refrain from short-term renting for one year instead of three years. This program pays homeowners up to $10,000 a year to convert their short-term rental into a long-term rental

The Red Dirt Concert Series is back for 2023, with concerts at the Posse Grounds Pavilion every Friday evening in May and September! Want to be considered as an act? Apply by Feb. 17th.
Drop off your used Christmas trees until Jan. 31, 2023, Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., at the City’s maintenance yard located at 2070 Contractors Rd.
The Sedona Magistrate Court has moved to a new facility located at 221 Brewer Road. All of your municipal court needs are now served at the new location.
Through a grant, the Sedona Police Department will implement an automated traffic reporting and forms program to streamline the ticket writing and reporting process.
Families and kids of all ages are invited to experience the magic of a crisp winter day in an imaginary candyland carnival at Winter Play Day on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Posse Grounds Pavilion.
