With the Holiday season now in full swing, it's more important than ever to keep our small businesses top of mind when tackling our shopping lists. From chic boutiques to home décor, Solana Beach is one of the region’s top shopping meccas for one-of-a-kind treasures. Enjoy a day strolling around our beautiful community and discover a variety of unique Holiday gift options along Highway 101 and the Cedros Design District. On either side of Interstate 5, shops, grocery stores, restaurants and other conveniences await to round out all your Holiday shopping needs. Holiday Package Theft Protection Tips

As more people choose online shopping, the opportunities for “porch pirates” to take advantage of free gifts are on the rise. The Holiday shopping season means more unattended boxes filled with merchandise purchased online end up on porches, which might then be targeted for theft. Fortunately, homeowners can take steps to protect against theft during the holidays after UPS, FedEx and Amazon drop off packages when no one is home. Here are a few tips that can help protect your packages and keep your homes safe during this Holiday season.

Cafecito with a Cop

Community Outreach is a top priority for the North Coastal Sheriff's Station. Come and ask our bilingual Peace Officers questions and discuss any concerns while enjoying complimentary coffee and pan dulce on Thursday, December 8th, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, at the La Colonia Community Center.

The Sheriff’s Department regularly hosts “Coffee with the Community” to give the public a chance to chat in a casual setting over a free cup of coffee. No speeches, no agenda, just casual conversation.

December 9th Special City Council Meeting

The City will be holding a Special City Council meeting on Friday, December 9th, at 4:00 PM in the Council Chambers. This Special Meeting will include certifying the election results and seating new Councilmembers. There will also be a special acknowledgment of outgoing Deputy Mayor Kelly Harless to recognize her dedicated service and accomplishments during her time on the City Council. La Colonia Holiday Tree Lighting

The City and La Colonia Community Foundation invite you to the La Colonia Holiday Tree Lighting event on Saturday, December 10th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Join your friends and neighbors at historic La Colonia Park to celebrate the Holiday season. There will be plenty of sweets, treats, and Mexican hot cocoa to go along with all the fun, including traditional Holiday aguinaldos treat bags for the children, and delicious pan dulce (Mexican sweet bread). Santa will make another appearance and children will have the chance to remind him just how good they’ve been all year!
