La Colonia Park Master Plan Workshop

This Saturday, Rain or Shine!

The La Colonia Park Master Plan Workshop is taking place this Saturday, February 25th, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the La Colonia Community Center. After a presentation from the City’s consultant team, weather permitting, Workshop attendees will be invited to participate in a guided tour of La Colonia Park to help in providing input on the current 2008 Master Plan and on improvements to the Park they would like to see. Attendees will also be able to view the vacant lot to the north of the Skate Park (again, weather permitting) to get a better perspective of the site and to provide input on what improvements/amenities could be accommodated in this expanded area of La Colonia Park.

Winter Storm & High Wind Advisory

A Winter Storm and High Wind Warning has been issued for the San Diego County area and is expected to be the coldest storm of the season thus far. A series of storms bringing rain, strong winds, and cold temperatures began yesterday and are forecasted to continue through Saturday. An atmospheric river storm starting Friday will bring close to three inches of heavy rain between now and Saturday, along with near-record cold temperatures. The strong winds will persist through Thursday but should diminish quickly into Friday morning. Storm water run-off, debris, and flooding of low-lying areas, drainages, rivers and surrounding streets is expected. Please bundle up and stay safe!

Sandbags Available to City Residents

With heavier rain expected through the weekend, the City has once again made sandbags available to City residents. The prefilled sandbags are available in the Solana Beach City Hall parking lot at 635 South Highway 101. Since there are a limited number of sandbags available, the City is asking that residents take no more than 7 sandbags. Please prepare accordingly as at times the rain may be heavy and the winds strong.
