Keeping Tempe's neighborhoods beautiful, connected and informed is vitally important to the health of our community. Members of the Neighborhood Advisory Commission are key to those efforts.

Openings for this commission are available now in zip codes 85283  and 85284 - and applications for any Tempe zip code are always welcome for future vacancies. Duties include attending monthly meetings and making recommendations to the Tempe City Council. Commissioners may hear information and advise on:

- Specific programs that are designed to build upon neighborhood opportunities and strengths as well as prevent the decline and deterioration of neighborhoods by recognizing and supporting the aspirations of residents and their neighborhoods.
- Ways in which information on neighborhood topics can be gathered and disseminated, such as conducting surveys and studies, convening forums, seminars and workshops, and special events and award recognition.
- Projects and concepts developed or proposed by the Neighborhoods staff, other commissioners and residents.

Regular meetings are typically held the first Wednesday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m.  The terms of office expire on Dec. 31 in 2023 or 2025. The appointed member would be eligible for consideration of reappointment to a three-year term when their current term is about to expire.
