Pardon our dust! McClintock Drive construction nearing completion

Students and staff commuting to McClintock High School should expect minor delays

Tempe, AZ - Construction to improve McClintock Drive near McClintock High School is nearing completion, but students, staff and others commuting in the area should expect to see work wrapping up along the corridor as classes begin.

The construction dust will soon be settled. Over the next six weeks, the contractor will be completing the final work necessary to remove all the barricades and fully open the roadway in its new configuration.

Understanding that Del Rio Drive is the main access to McClintock High School, there will be a concerted effort over the next two weeks to get that intersection repaired and fully operational prior to the first day of fall classes on Aug. 4. Final work along the corridor includes signal work at Campus Drive, minor concrete repairs, minor paving patches, installation of bus equipment and addition of new striping.

Upon completion, McClintock Drive will have three southbound lanes, two northbound lanes and bike lanes in both directions. The project will also have updated LED lighting, fully accessible ADA ramps, new transit infrastructure and new traffic signals at three intersections. The roadway surface treatment will provide a clean final product and will also help improve the longevity of the pavement.
