Nominate someone now for the Mayor's All-Abilities Awards

Tempe, AZ - The Tempe Mayor's All-Abilities Awards celebrate the people and businesses who make Tempe a better place for those with disabilities.

This is the 34th year of the celebration, which received a name change this year from the Disability Awards to the All-Abilities Awards.

Rachel Gomez of the Mayor’s Commission on Disability Concerns explained the reason behind the name change.

"Tempe is a diverse, inter-abled community, where with continued conversations and enhancements we ensure an individual's abilities do not determine their access to all Tempe offers. These awards recognize the ways our citizens of varied abilities use their strengths, time and gifts to ensure Tempe is an accessible, enriching community for all," she said.

"Everyone has special talents and abilities that should be celebrated for their uniqueness and not their differences,” said Irene Mochel, Chair of the Mayor’s Commission on Disability Concerns.
