Earlier this year, the Tempe City Council unanimously authorized the city to begin negotiating with Glass Clippings, Inc. on a land lease to broaden and improve the Rolling Hills playing experience as part of the city’s commitment to community-based golf.
An overview of the project details and site plan can be found on the Grass Clippings website. The proposed design includes a new 19-hole golf course designed by Scottsdale National’s Jackson Kahn Design, lighted practice facilities, a community gathering place, family activity lawn, and Baja inspired food and beverage operations. The site plan reduces the turf area by 35% and reduces the golf footprint by 15 acres, jointly focusing on sustainable use of water and opening up other recreational possibilities.
