SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR RESPONSES TO SOLICITATION FOR GENERAL PLAN UPDATE - The City of Tucson seeks a professional planning firm to coordinate the update of our General Plan. The deadline to submit an application is now May 19. The current General Plan, Plan Tucson, City of Tucson General and Sustainability Plan, was adopted by Tucson voters in November 2013. Per Arizona state law, general plans must be updated or re-adopted every 10 years. This update to the General Plan will create a framework for equitable and sustainable growth along with a vision for our community for the coming decades. Key priorities identified by our community that this plan will address include housing affordability, climate change mitigation and adaptation, mobility options, balancing infill and edge development, and growing and diversifying our economy. The City of Tucson aims to update the General Plan by 2024.
