CITY HOLIDAY CLOSURES TOMORROW - All City of Tucson offices, except for emergency services, will be closed tomorrow, Nov. 11, in observance of Veterans Day. Residential and commercial trash and recycling collections will not be affected, and the Los Reales Sustainability Campus (landfill) will be open. Public transit will run on a normal weekday schedule.

VETERANS DAY PARADE TOMORROW -The Veterans Day Parade is back this year and has a new route through downtown. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. and the theme for this year is "Honor". The parade is expected to last approximately one hour and twenty minutes. Rolling road closures throughout the parade area will begin at 9 a.m. and the I-10 eastbound and westbound exit ramps at Congress Street will be closed from 7 a.m. to noon. Community members that wish to attend the parade are encouraged to plan accordingly to get into the parade area early to pick their spot to celebrate our veterans. The City-State garage, 498 W. Congress Street, and Tucson Convention Center parking lots will be open and accessible until 10:30 a.m. to allow convenient parking for parade participants and spectators. Parking is free at these locations. Following the conclusion of the parade, all parking garages and lots will reopen for entry and exit. REDISTRICTING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING TONIGHT- The Redistricting Advisory Committee will meet tonight at 5:30 p.m., in the Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall, 255 W. Alameda St. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the City’s YouTube channel and can be viewed at the link below. Information on the Redistricting Advisory Committee, including the proposed redistricting maps, is available online and also linked below.

HHW/DOCUMENT SHREDDING EVENT THIS WEEKEND - The City of Tucson's Environmental and General Services Department (EGSD) is hosting its monthly Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Collection Event this Saturday, Nov. 12, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Rodeo Park, 5001 S. Nogales Highway (enter on Irvington Road). City residents can drop off HHW, electronic waste, paper documents for shredding (limit 3 boxes), and glass bottles and jars at no charge. Unknown chemicals will not be accepted. The event is free for City of Tucson residents with proof of address. Residents from Marana, Oro Valley, Sahuarita, and unincorporated Pima County will be charged a $10 fee to drop off materials. EGSD hosts HHW collection events on the second Saturday of every month in different areas across Tucson. TUCSON PARKS AND RECREATION HOSTING ANNUAL HOLIDAY ARTS AND CRAFTS FAIR THANKSGIVING WEEKEND - Get a start on your holiday shopping by visiting the fair that will be held in Reid Park on Nov. 26 and 27 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. More than 140 vendors from all over the Southwest will be showcasing unique, handmade goods that provide shoppers with a high-quality and diverse selection of items ranging from holiday wreathes, fine jewelry, and gourmet dog treats. Food and drinks will be available through purchase from local vendors.
