From: City Of TucsonNEW PERMITTING SYSTEM ONLINE - The City of Tucson launched Tucson Development Center Online (TDC Online) this morning, Oct. 31. The new permitting system is a partnership between the Planning and Development Services Department, Tucson Fire Department, Tucson Water, the Department of Transportation and Mobility, and Code Enforcement. TDC Online features a self-service portal that provides customers an entirely online process. It will provide transparency throughout the permitting process, featuring email notifications and a personal dashboard to track applications from submittal to issuance. CITY SEEKS APPLICATIONS FROM NONPROFIT PARTNERS FOR HOMELESS WORK PROGRAM - The City of Tucson recently received short-term supplemental funding from the Arizona Department of Housing (ADOH) to temporarily expand the Tucson Homeless Work Program through June 30, 2023. The program is an effort to provide day labor/temporary employment opportunities for people experiencing homelessness. The program is administered collaboratively by the City of Tucson Housing and Community Development department, Tucson Environmental and General Services Department, and nonprofit organizations. This request for proposals (RFP) invites applications from nonprofit organizations with program capacity to support work crews comprised of 7-10 people experiencing homelessness. Applications are due by Tuesday, Nov. 15.

CLIMATE ACTION AND ADAPTATION PLAN PUBLIC WORKSHOP - Tucson Resilient Together is the City of Tucson’s forthcoming Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, scheduled for release at the end of this year. Mayor Regina Romero and City staff invite you to participate in the second and final workshop next month to share your knowledge, experiences, and input on the strategies and actions that will help Tucson reach its carbon neutrality goals and create a climate-resilient future for all Tucsonans. Learn more about Tucson Resilient Together, share what climate action and resilience look like for you and your community, and provide meaningful input on specific actions the City is considering. The workshop in Saturday, Nov. 12, from 9 a.m.-noon, at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR FREE DAY CAMP THIS WEEK - Tucson Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD), is offering a free program, "School's Out Day Camp," for students during TUSD's Professional Development Day on Thursday, Nov. 3. Camp will be from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. for children ages 5-11 years old who are enrolled at a TUSD school. Activities are supervised, engaging, and fun. The camp includes games, sports, social interaction, dance, art projects, and nutrition-based learning activities. Each child must bring a shelf-sustainable lunch, a water bottle, and two snacks. FIND THE 'READY, SET, REC!' MOBILE RECREATION VANS THROUGHOUT TUCSON THIS WEEK - Tucson Parks and Recreation's mobile recreation program, "Ready, Set, Rec!," is touring parks throughout the fall. Play is for all ages, and the fun includes cornhole, hula hoops, giant chess, giant checkers, giant Connect 4, music, dominoes, giant Jenga, giant ring toss, etc. Find a schedule of where the vans will be on the website or follow @readysetrec on Facebook or Instagram.
