INTERACTIVE RAIN ART PROJECT PREMIERES TOMORROW - Local artist "Alex!" Jimenez and a team of sound and lighting specialists are launching a bold, interactive art project that honors the power of rain. The "Santa Cruz Sound Experience: Calling the Rain Through Sound on Dia de San Juan" happens tomorrow, June 24, on the banks of the Santa Cruz River, under the Cushing Street Bridge. El Día de San Juan is an annual event that celebrates the traditional start of Tucson’s monsoon. This art installation offers lights, sound, and moving images of water inspired by community input during the last year. Look for signs at the Mercado San Agustin and Mercado Annex directing you to this free event, which begins at dusk. Meanwhile, the Monsoon Mixtape 2022 (link below) is online as a YouTube playlist. The collection of the three-hour monsoon soundscape from local musicians is sponsored by Tucson Water.
