VISIT REID PARK ZOO FOR A HOUSING RESOURCE FAIR - Visit Reid Park Zoo on Friday, Nov. 18, from 1-5 p.m., and Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for a housing resource fair. Admission to the Zoo is free with a wristband for those who register and are attending the workshops. Registration and check-in for the workshops is at Zoo Gate 7, next to the main admission booths. Attendees can participate in informational workshops and get information about buying a home, down payment/closing cost assistance, rental/mortgage assistance, mortgage credit repair, reverse mortgage, and much more. The resource fair is sponsored by the City of Tucson's Housing and Community Development (HCD) department, Pima County, and the Tucson Association of Realtors.

REDISTRICTING ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETINGS AND PUBLIC HEARINGS - The Redistricting Advisory Committee will meet and continue its public hearing Thursday, Nov. 17, and Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 5:30 p.m. both days, in Mayor and Council Chambers at City Hall, 255 W. Alameda St. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the City’s YouTube channel and can be viewed at the link below. Information on the Redistricting Advisory Committee, including the proposed redistricting maps, is available online and also linked below.

CITY PREPARING TO OPEN WAITLIST FOR PUBLIC HOUSING AND VOUCHERS - The City of Tucson’s Housing and Community Development (HCD) department will soon unveil the waitlist for City-owned public housing and City of Tucson and Pima County public housing vouchers, known as Section 8. In December, HCD will launch a regionwide outreach campaign informing residents about the waitlist and invite them to apply. In early January, HCD will open the application period for those wishing to apply on computers and smartphones. Online applications will be available in various languages and alternate forms. For individuals wanting to make their applications on paper, that option will be available. HCD is collaborating with various community partners to make computers available to those who do not have access to computers or smartphones. A list of sites, dates, and times will be available and posted on the website linked below.
