VIRTUAL FORUM NEXT WEEK TO ADDRESS UNSHELTERED HOMELESSNESS IN THE TUCSON AREA - The Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) and Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness (TPCH) will hold a follow-up listening session to last month’s two-day conference on developing strategies to address unsheltered homelessness in the Tucson area. The virtual session will be held next Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 5:30-7 p.m. Registration is required (link below). Findings from last month’s conference will be presented during the virtual forum. HCD and TPCH are working with the Corporation for Supportive Housing to launch a Frequent User System Engagement (FUSE) initiative aimed at housing individuals and families with service needs to reduce costs and trauma associated with recurring episodes of homelessness, incarceration, and emergency services. HCD, TPCH, and its allies will continue to strategize on opportunities to align health, housing, supportive services, and other resources to help prioritize unsheltered homelessness, particularly among individuals and families with service needs, and maintain permanent housing.
