Union City's Rental & Mortgage Assistance Program provides rental and mortgage assistance to eligible low-income families, seniors and persons with disabilities. Interested persons may apply by completing an online application at https://gmen.org/city-of-union-cityThe online application will close once funds are exhausted. The City of Union City is pleased to aid residents negatively affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The City is supporting these efforts with CARES Act funding received from the federal government through the Fulton County Commission.

The City is working with the Georgia Micro Enterprise Network (GMEN) to manage the selection of applicants and the distribution of funds. “The Georgia Micro Enterprise Network, GMEN, is honored to be the partner chosen by the City of Union City to administer their COVID-19 Emergency Housing Assistance Program,” said GMEN Executive Director, Elizabeth Wilson. “Through this program we will be able to rapidly provide some level of relief to families with children, lower-income earning households and other vulnerable populations."

GMEN is a statewide nonprofit agency with more than 25 years of experience in administering federally funded programs and has administered ERAP (Emergency Rental Assistance Program) for municipalities since December 7, 2019.

Payments of up to $2,400 will be made to landlords or mortgage companies on behalf of eligible Union City residents. Applicants who are not eligible for the program will receive notifications explaining why they were disqualified. The main reasons for disqualification are that applicants live outside of Union City as defined by data from the Georgia geographical information system or they have self-reported household income above the maximum allowed by the assistance program.
