June 3, 2022

From: City of West Palm Beach

The Atlantic hurricane season occurs June 1 through November 30. This is a period when tropical storms and hurricanes are more likely to occur. These storms have the potential to cause widespread devastation.

Please join the City of West Palm Beach in preparing for hurricane season. Have a plan to keep you and your family safe, and to protect your property or business. Take the time to know your evacuation zone and your flood zone. Build a hurricane kit, evaluate your insurance coverage, and stay informed.

The city’s online Hurricane Readiness Guide contains hurricane preparedness tips and other helpful information. The state of Florida’s 2022 Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which occurs through June 10, 2022, is an opportunity to purchase disaster relief items exempt from sales tax.

The key to staying safe is being prepared. Working together, we can be prepared, safe and ready this hurricane season!.

Yours in Service,

Keith A. James, Mayor

Did You Know: Safe Water Dashboard

The city website offers a Safe Water Dashboard. Current test results show the city’s drinking water is safe to drink. This is the normal status for the city’s drinking water throughout the year. The Safe Water Dashboard provides city water customers with real-time information about their drinking water, as the city proactively tests for cyanotoxin. Cyanotoxin are toxins produced by cyanobacteria (also known as blue-green algae) which typically flourishes in lakes and waterways in the region as temperatures rise.
