Centerville MA---The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is pleased to announce that Congressman William R. (Bill) Keating will join the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra for its performance of Roy Harris's Symphony No. 6 "Gettysburg" as Narrator, at the 24th Annual Pops in the Park concert in Orleans, MA.

Congressman Keating represents Massachusetts' 9th Congressional District, which encompasses the state's South Shore and South Coast, as well as Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. He currently sits on House Sub-Committees for Homeland Security, Small Business and Foreign Affairs.

"It is a pleasure to welcome Congressman Keating as Narrator of what I am sure will be a moving performance of this great American composition", said the Arts Foundation's Executive Director Kevin Howard. The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is now the producer of Pops in the Park, the largest Lower Cape cultural event.

"The Cape Cod Symphony is one of our greatest assets, drawing many patrons throughout the summer," said Rep. Keating. "I am very excited to be able to participate in one of their excellent performances. When visitors think of the Cape - especially in August - they think of beaches, lobster rolls and ice cream, and warm, relaxing days. But thanks to cultural resources such as the Cape Cod Symphony, they are experiencing a whole new depth of enjoyment in the community."

The 24th Annual Cape Cod Five Pops in the Park will feature the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Jung-Ho Pak.

Date and Time: Saturday, August 24, 2013, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
